Family

Alexander Emelianenko was born in Staryi Oskol city, Belgorod region on August 2, 1981.

Father: Vladimir Emelianenko. Mother: Olga Emelianenko. Has three siblings: sister Marina, an elder brother Fedor and a younger brother Vania.

Moved to Saint Petersburg in 2004. Got married in 2007. Wife — Olga Emelianenko. Daughter Polina was born July 30, 2007.

1987–1996: school
1999: graduated from vocational school, with a specialization in electric welding
2009: graduated from Belgorod State University, department of economics

1988: took up judo
1998: reached a qualifying standard of a judo master of sports of the Russian Federation
1999: won his first important title — European Combat Sambo Champion (Sofia, Bulgaria)
2003: reached a qualifying standard of a sambo master of sports of the Russian Federation
2003-2004-2006: became a Three Times World Combat Sambo Champion
2003: started performing in the Japanese Ultimate Fighting Pride League
April 2007: participated in Saint Petersburg Mixed Fight Championship "Russia vs. USA" sensationally winning his fight. The honoured guests of the Championship were the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi and the famous Hollywood actor Jean-Claude Van Damme

Nowadays Alexander is one of the most promising Ultimate Fighters, being one of the world top ten.
